Yul Edwards is the current Chief of Staff to Representative Danny K. Davis and has spent over ten years in Washington, DC. Yul initially worked on the Congressman’s most notable achievement, the passage of the Second Chance Act of 2007 (signed into law, April 9, 2008), which provides a vehicle to assist ex-offenders with adequate reentry to society. Prior to joining Congressman Davis, Yul worked as defense lobbyist for Fabiani & Company primarily working in aligning Universities and private companies’ research and development capabilities with the Department of Defense. Yul has also worked for several Members of Congress and developed a deep understanding of the legislative process and its impact at the state and district levels.
Yul served as Legislative Director for former U.S. Congressman Frank Ballance, Jr. from North Carolina, where he worked exclusively on the congressman’s appropriations priorities and economic development initiatives as well as a prior stint with Congressman Davis and Congressman Mike Ross of Arkansas. Yul primary handles many of the political, appropriations, tax and economic development initiatives for the Congressman.
Yul currently serves as a board member for S.T.E.E.E.D., a non-profit organization established to introduce inner city “at-risk” youth to equestrian life and horticulture as well as DC Commission on National and Community Service. Yul is also a member of the Cambridge Who’s Who and has received numerous awards related to his work on congressional issues. Yul is a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas with a B.A. in Political Science and Psychology.
