Robert King earned a bachelor's degree from Trinity College and a law degree from the Vanderbilt University of Law. He began his career as a prosecutor for offices of District Attorneys. Since then, he has been in private practice, served as a New York State Assemblyman, and most recently has been serving as Chancellor for the State University of New York. He has served as a volunteer with the United Way, the American Lung Association, Camp Good Days, and Special Times. Mr. King received a Presidential appointment to be a member of the White House commission on Presidential Scholars. He was appointed by Secretary of State Colin Powell to the Education Committee of the U.S. National Commission for the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a representative of state and local government interests.
