We’re big fans of Halloween.

But we’re even bigger fans of a safe Halloween.

Halloween is a lot of fun. Festive parties, trick-or-treating, pumpkin carving. Unfortunately, it also means that some party-goers irresponsibly make the decision to drive drunk.

When you consider the number of people out trick-or-treating this weekend, the potential for tragedy increases exponentially. In 2008, 58 percent of all highway fatalities across the nation on Halloween night involved a driver or a motorcycle rider with a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) of .08 or higher, which is the legal threshold for impaired drivers in most states.

Don’t drive drunk - please make the responsible choice and find a safe way home. WRAP is offering free cab rides to those in the Washington DC Metro area from 10PM on Saturday to 6AM on Sunday. Check your local news for free cab rides in your area. Happy Halloween!
