We're continuing to catch up with 2011's 20 People to Watch. These people, identified last year as those with an outsized chance to make an impact on the next 20 years, include those from as diverse fields as politics, science, and athletics.

Since the Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility’s 20th Anniversary Celebration last October, Donna Moore has continued to serve as the Director of the federally funded Physical Education Program (PEP) $1.1. million grant which awarded Payson Unified Schools District (PUSD) Physical Education Department. Through this grant, Donna has overseen the installation of a high and low rope Adventure Challenge Course for PUSD. Donna and her colleagues have all been trained to facilitate groups in leadership, teambuilding and other vital life lesson skills through Adventure Education. When Donna’s students returned to school a month ago they learned this year they will enjoy wireless Dance/Dance Revolution, Video Gaming Bikes, The First Tee Golf Program, Yoga and In-Line Skating, just to name a few new PEP Grant curriculum items.

At the end of the 2011-2012 school year, Julia Randall Elementary School under Donna’s guidance competed in The Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility’s Ask, Listen, Learn Challenge and took 2nd place for elementary schools across the United States.

During the past year Donna has presented at a number of conferences including the Arizona Coordinated School Health Conference in Phoenix and the Office of Safe and Healthy Students PEP Technical Assistance Meeting in Washington, DC. In September she will be presenting at the PEP Summit in Minneapolis, Minnesota. On a more personal note, this past June, Donna and her husband Mike celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary – the same week their son Michael was married to Liz. Donna’s grandson Brock (yes, Donna is a Grandmother!) turned 1 years old in May. In her 31st year of teaching, Donna remains as passionate as the first day she began her career, continuing to teach her students the importance of ownership in their personal health, fitness & well-being.
