Responsibility.org welcomes Hispana Global founder Jeannette Kaplun to National Advisory Board

Arlington, Va. – The Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility (Responsibility.org) announced today that Jeannette Kaplun has joined its National Advisory Board. A member of Responsibility.org’s Education Advisory Board and former “#TalkEarly” blogger, Kaplun is the founder and chief content officer of Hispana Global, a bilingual media platform for Hispanic women, where she shares tips about parenting, beauty, travel, food, technology, social good and more.

Responsibility.org is a national not-for-profit organization funded by America’s leading distillers that leads the fight to eliminate drunk driving and underage drinking. The organization’s National Advisory Board plays a vital role in assisting in the development and execution of the organization’s mission by providing critical insights and valuable expertise to the president and CEO, other staff and member companies.

“In the Hispanic community, we must begin working with our families, especially across generations, whenever we want to make changes in our attitudes and behavior,” Kaplun said. “It’s a community that beckons a unique approach to addressing big issues like drunk driving and underage drinking, and I believe Responsibility.org, through its many impactful programs, can play a crucial role. Their messages hit home, and embrace different cultures, so I look forward to working with the National Advisory Board to position the organization as a leader within the Hispanic community.”

An award-winning bilingual journalist and TV personality featured on The Chew, Good Morning America, The Steve Harvey Show, Despierta América, Un Nuevo Día, Tu Día Alegre and other shows, Kaplun has successfully forged a multimedia career in both English and Spanish as a lifestyle expert, internationally recognized parenting writer and conference speaker. She was co-host of two Emmy-nominated shows, Univision’s Viva la Familia and Telemundo’s Todobebe, is the author of, “Todobebé: Todo lo que necesitas saber para el primer año de tu bebé,” (Rayo, 2006) and writes for Babble, Ser Padres magazine, latinamom.me, Moms Clean Air Force and other outlets.

A past UN Social Good Fellow, Kaplun has participated in the social good campaigns Blogust, 28 Days of Impact and Relay For Kids. She has also been a speaker at major conferences including BlogHer, Blogalicious, We All Grow Summit, EVO, LATISM, Blissdom, Hispanicize, Social Media Week Miami, SheStreams and SheCon. In 2013, she was a guest speaker at the UN Foundation’s Mom+Social Global Summit and also moderated the Global Voices keynote at Mom 2.0 Summit.

“Jeannette is a very influential blogger, lifestyle expert, speaker and brand ambassador,” said Ralph Blackman, president and CEO of the Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility. “She has served as a valuable member of our education advisory board, and we are excited to add her unique point-of-view and expertise to our National Advisory Board.”
