ARLINGTON, VA — The Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility unveiled an interactive program to better educate adults about how alcohol consumption affects an individual's Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC). Available at B4UDrink.mobi, information about an individual's BAC is now made accessible "at their fingertips" on any mobile device including a cell phone, BlackBerry, or iPhone. The Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility, a not-for-profit organization funded by distillers, is a leader in the fight to reduce and eventually eliminate drunk driving and underage drinking.

The B4UDrink interactive program takes the guessing game out of the equation and gives the user factual information about how alcohol consumption affects an individual's BAC. Accessible from any mobile device, the user quickly enters their gender and weight and the type and quantity of drink(s) they plan to consume. A few short clicks later they are given their approximate BAC. For example, a male weighing 200 pounds can visit B4UDrink.mobi before he goes out with friends and realize that if he has four standard drinks over the course of two hours, his BAC would rise to .05 which is elevated but still below the .08 legal limit to operate a vehicle. Conversely, if a 150 pound woman drinks the same amount of mixed drinks over that time span her BAC would be .10 which is significantly over the legal limit to drive. BAC is not the only factor bearing on responsible decision-making; individuals must use common sense and sound judgment.

Susan Molinari, Chairman of The Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility, stated, "With the holiday season upon us, B4UDrink.mobi is an excellent tool to raise awareness about how alcohol affects an individual's BAC. With widespread use of mobile technology, readily available access to such important information will lead to more responsible decisions that can now be made anytime, at any place. In 2006, there were 750 alcohol-related traffic fatalities that occurred nationwide over the winter holidays. Every single fatality is a tragedy, but these numbers represent far too many."

At B4UDrink.mobi, the user is presented with facts about BAC and other information related to the responsible consumption of alcoholic beverages. There are many easy steps that can be taken to help prevent these tragedies, and visiting B4UDrink.mobi is one of them.

The B4UDrink.mobi site is an enhancement of an earlier version of the program developed by The Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility. B4UDrink.mobi uses the same methodology and gives the same end results as B4UDrink.org, but is faster and designed to be easily used on any mobile device.
