The Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility announced today that an esteemed panel of judges chose Kylee Darcy's "What You Don't Know" as the Reel Girls, Real Life grand prize winner. The Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility, a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to fighting drunk driving and underage drinking, conducted a contest for their program Girl Talk: Choices and Consequences of Underage Drinking. Girls, ages 15-18, entered the contest by submitting a concept video for a commercial designed to persuade teen girls not to drink alcohol. Kylee Darcy's winning concept will be produced and distributed as The Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility's first Girl Talk national commercial. Darcy, from Fairfax, CA, will receive $5,000 and The Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility will fly her and a parent or guardian to film the commercial with the pros.

"The Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility is thrilled to honor Kylee Darcy's "What You Don't Know" as the Reel Girls, Real Life grand prize winning commercial, which serves to give young women a voice in this initiative to stop underage drinking and promote a healthy lifestyle," said Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility Chairman, Susan Molinari. "Darcy's concept, which aims to highlight the dangerous consequences that her peers might not know about alcohol, was also chosen as the "Public's Vote" winner by more than 20,000 online voters. She is to be congratulated on her efforts to fight underage drinking among teen girls nationwide."

Darcy is a freshman at UC Berkeley where she is a member of PR Club, PreMed Club and Pi Beta Phi Sorority. A U.S. National silver medalist and Western U.S. gold medalist in Latin and Ballroom Dance, she submitted her winning Reel Girls, Real Life entry while attending Sir Francis Drake High School in San Anselmo, California.

"I'm so excited to have won the Reel Girls, Real Life contest! I hope that my commercial will inspire teen girls nationwide to talk to their moms, and each other, about the dangers of underage drinking," said Darcy.

The Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility will professionally produce "What You Don't Know" over the next few months and plans to release the final commercial as a public service announcement in time for prom and graduation season in April 2008.
