WASHINGTON, DC--Today, The Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility, a national not-for-profit organization funded by distillers dedicated to fighting drunk driving and underage drinking, recognized South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley with its 2013 Leadership Award. During his tenure he has shown an outstanding commitment to fighting drunk driving and underage drinking in South Dakota.
For many years, Attorney General Jackley has been actively educating parents and children about the dangers of underage drinking and drunk driving. Attorney General Jackley has hosted educational events at schools across the state, taped multiple public service announcements and actively used social media to encourage conversations between youth and adults about the dangers of underage drinking. Attorney General Jackley has also championed innovative programs programs such as the 24/7 program to address hardcore DUI offenders and help keep them from re-offending.
