Jim Higley

Bobblehead Dad

Jim Higley is an award-winning author and a national advocate for fatherhood and men’s health issues.

After a prostate cancer detour at the age of forty-four, Jim traded in his 20-plus-year career in corporate America to become a full-time, stay-at-home, single dad to his three children. He documented a large part of that journey, along with his passion for positive parenting, in a weekly parenting column for the Chicago Tribune’s suburban paper reaching a monthly audience of over four million readers.

Today, Jim is known as a thoughtful, relatable voice to people worldwide who enjoy his stories in Men’s Health magazine, the Huffington Post, and Thought Catalog. A finalist in the Erma Bombeck Global Writing Competition, Jim’s an insightful storyteller and motivational speaker who helps millions find meaning in the simple moments of their days.

Jim’s book, Bobblehead Dad: 25 Life Lessons I Forgot I Knew, is an inspirational story about his journey through cancer, fatherhood, and the rediscovery of several forgotten life lessons. It’s a winning finalist of an International Book Award, a ForeWord Reviews Book of the Year finalist, and is ranked as a “Top Ten” Motivational book by Amazon Kindle.

Jim is considered a forward-thinking, action-oriented and inspiring leader in both the cancer and parenting communities worldwide. Through his multi-media platform, he helps people, businesses and causes connect and spread the message that there is value waiting in life’s nooks and crannies.
